I have done some more tests with the new version.
So I have tested the external communication via internet with the dolphin browser.
In this version there is a problem with the access via username and password.
Without authentication the access works well.

Can you do some tests with external access?
Does it work ?

I have tested WebControl with Dolphin in the past, but not recently. Which version of Dolphin are you using?

I use dolphin browser V11.4.15. In the last version it works fine.
Today evening I 'll do a test with mozilla and also IE. Then I give you some new information's.

Hi,
My testresults are:

For lokal acces, with and without username/password, with Chrome and FireFox with VLC addon on Win 8.1 Laptop (LAN and WiFi test) and with Chrome and FireFox on Samsung Tab4: All WebControl functions OK with all browsers. (Streaming with Firefox-VLC addon, on Tablet with VLC).

For external acces from Tongeren (National): Using a Win7 x64 desktop pc (Lan only) with Chrome and firefox with VLC addon, and the same Samsung Tab4 as above: Identical results. (Portforwarding in router set to 8800 for EPG Search).

For external acces from Maastricht (International): Using an other Win7 x64 desktop pc (Lan only) with Chrome and firefox with VLC addon, and the same Samsung Tab4 as above: Identical results. (Portforwarding in router set to 8800 for EPG Search).

Microsoft's Internet Explorer works also without anny error.

So, I can only say: Bravo.

I could only find Dolphin 11.3.2 to test on my Android x86 4.4 VM and I did not encounter any authentication errors.

Have you tried testing within your network to see if the problem is related to the browser or related to your router?

If you set WebControl authentication to 'all', and then try from within your home, this could help identify a problem. (06-Authentifizierung = Immer)

Also, you could consider enabling logging and check in the log file for any obvious error messages regarding authentication. (03-Log-Stufe = Detailliert)

Hi,
I have tested also a little bit. With Google Chrome it works fine. Also with mozilla firefox. Both browsers works under android lollipop well. IE under Win7 works nice.
I think the problem is the new update from dolphin browser under android lollipop.
The latest running version is no longer available on the playstore.
How can I get a downgrade?
I think the best solution is to switch the browser to chrome.
In the past I preferred dolphin.

I tested the function in a timer.
The result was "??" in timerlist. Normaly the timer shoud be One Day or Weekdays or something.

New, interesting problem using Chrome: I can't push the buttons on the remote control in the TMS Remote module using the mouse. But it works wothout problems using the touchscreen.
Anyone else with this problem?

"Intelligent Record" is supposed to create timers based on keywords. It only works for EXACT matches in the title. In Australia, it is not very popular because broadcasters often append text to the title: "The Big Bang Theory (Including Lotto at 7:48)". This will not match "The Big Bang Theory".

It is a valid timer type, so WebControl respects that. If you had an Australian PVR that supports external analogue sources, the timer edit window also would show the analogue sources as pseudo-channels.

Yes, everyone else with a touchscreen AND a mouse.
The problem was, that if I support both methods, it will result in double-clicks on a lot of devices, because they emulate a mouse, when you touch, but additionally firing touch-events.
As workaround, the webapp is testing, wheather the device has touch support. If so, the touch-events are used, else the mouse-events.
I will search for a better solution, but I haven't found "the one" yet.

Would there be a chance to configure the behaviour within WebControl? Maybe most of the people use only one of the ways for input and you could chose which one suits you best.

I would prefer a solution without configuration.

As workaround, you can hack the source as a "manual configuration":

Change line 158ff to:

Since I start WebControl using the XStart-TAP, I get no connection. XStart starts WebControl after 160 seconds.

The typical error has this form:

2015-07-19 21:12:02 Failed to bind to listening socket.  errno=125.

If I start WebControl manually, it works. I can mail the complete log, if you want.

Well, some sources state that errno 125 means "Operation Cancelled" and others state "Address already in use". Normally, it's good to have choices, but not this time.

Perhaps I may be guilty of confirmation bias, but I think that "Address already in use" is the most likely choice in this case.

Q1. Are there any other processes on the PVR listening to port 8000?

If you have access to the command line, try "busybox netstat -l -p".

Q2. Did you remove WC from AutoStart when you installed XStart?

Q3. If you change WC to use another port, does the error still happen?

The network initialisation function is called at startup and also when the configuration changes.

Q4. If you load WC-Config and press "Save", do you receive the same error?

Q5. Do you have an old version of TMA1 somewhere that may have been accidentally started?

I don't use XStart, but I can try to do some experimentation over the next few days.

It is interesting that WC works OK when you start it manually. I assume that XStart uses HDD_TAP_Start(), so I might also experiment with that too.

Q6. Can you please tell me which version of XStart you are using?

Q7. Can you please send me a copy of your XStart.ini via PM?
