Create a blank timer?

I asked this question in the UK forum, but there aren't many 3PG users there (or in the Australian forum), so I'll try my luck here:

Is it possible to create timers where the name is not fixed (ie. in API terms where nameFix = 0)? My attempts always result in fixed names, such that the filename is not updated when the recording occurs.

The action I want is the same as the Toppy's default timer list when you create a timer without setting its name.

Is your question whether 3PG can create those timers? I don't think so. I usually have more information in the file name (which was created based on imported TGD data) than in the recorded EPG data. Maybe one of our TAP gurus can tell you more.

Yes, that's my question.

The way the UK Timers TAP does it, for example, is that when you create a new timer it is called "New Timer" (and has nameFix = 0). If you don't change that name then the filename is based on the EPG data.

In Australia they don't broadcast much of an EPG, so I regularly have to create blank timers, but if I use 3PG then they aren't given a useful name.

Sounds like an enhancement request. Is there a way for you to import the programme data as TGD? That is by far the best option.

Setting up TGD data isn't really feasible for me, and I'm not that worried about the lack of EPG data.

How do I forward this as an enhancement request? I emailed the 3PG author about this some months ago but didn't receive a response. I see there's a wishlist thread, but reading multiple pages of it in Babelfish translation gives me a headache :patsch:
reading multiple pages of it in Babelfish translation gives me a headache :patsch:
 You are really brave! I am quite sure that your feature is not yet on the list. If you want, I can add it for you, but I think it will be equally okay for you to add it in English. But, as t3xi himself said:
Bei Wünschen für 3PG ist es so, dass diese standardmäßig immer alle abgelehnt werden. Nur ab und zu wird diese Ablehnung ignoriert und das Feature trotzdem eingebaut. :und_weg:
Meaning: All feature requests for 3PG are rejected by default. Only sometimes, the rejection is ignored and the feature will be implemented, anyway. :und_weg:

Thanks for offering to add my request to the list, that would be greatly appreciated. I reckon having it written in German will add about 1% to the chances of getting it implemented

[post=270545]Done[/post]. And as an extra, it will translate absolutely hilarious with Babelfish.

I really admire you people who manage to make sense of the discussions going on here using automated translators.

Thank you. Your description of my request looked to be succinct and accurate.

Now my only remaining task is to think kind thoughts towards t3xi.

Have you tried Stirf? This will rename the recording after it ends with the EPG-data available in the recording.
