That's exactly what I alos wanted to suggest.
At home, I use a Synology NAS,but the other solutions (QNAP, Buffalo, ...) should also do the trick.
Maybe there are also solutions für Windows that can solve the problem as longs as the machine runs after every disconnect.
Normally, I transfer the recorded files from the Toppi to the NAS, partially cut them and then store them on the NAS.
With fast LAN, you can reach transfer rates at approx. 50-60MByte/s, that's my typical value.
I play the files normally using a modified FireTV (installed Kodi).

This is an open invitation to beta test the new 'epgsearch' feature of WebControl.



epgsearch is a new module that allows users to actively search the EPG for keywords and other criteria like channel, time of day and programme duration.

The new module uses matching concepts that should already be familiar to users of SmartEPG. If WebControl is configured to use SmartEPG as its data source, epgsearch will search the SmartEPG database instead of the PVR's EPG database. The module can even import existing SmartEPG search definitions.

The module is designed to have zero impact on the PVR's GUI. It should be possible to carry out searches using WebControl whilst another user is using the RCU to navigate the PVR's menu system or access other TAPs.

Warning: epgsearch is a fairly new feature and has only been tested by 4 users on 5 PVRs. Nothing bad has been discovered so far, but that does not mean that nothing bad is yet to be found. Proceed with due caution and at your own risk.

epgsearch is only available as a manual download at the moment, but will eventually be available via TAPtoDate as an integrated part of WebControl once enough users have done some testing. It can be downloaded from here:

The ZIP file contains all that you need as a total replacement for the current production version of WebControl.

If you want to use epgsearch from outside of your home network, you will need to enable forwarding for TCP-8800 on your firewall.

There is currently a known problem with iPad clients.

I found two minor bugs:

If I start TMSRemote when WebControl is already running, I can choose TMSRemote under WebControl after a reload in the webbrowser, but there is no possibility to enter the TMSRemote password so that TMSRemote can't be started, because of the wrong identification.

The 2401 remote control shown isn't complete. One key is missing, the lower left key under the red key.

I can not recreate this error with FF30. What browser are you using?

What action does this button perform for you?

I have an Australian 7160 with a remote that looks the same, but my manual says "is not used in this model", the button does nothing and I can't see that it generates a key code.

Do you know which key code yours generates?

My manual for the German 2401 says the same :oops:. I don't use the original remote control because I use a Logitech Harmony. I had to use the white key with WebControl today and didn't find it on your picture in the browser. So I fetched the original remote control to compare, found the white key and another key that wasn't on your picture. So forget my question :oops:.

I also read that, when I designed the RCU, so I decided to drop this button.

I had to use the white key with WebControl today and didn't find it on your picture in the browser.

I did not know, that the >|< key is white.

You can add the following to /tmsremote/remotes.css, if you like:

If you are testing the v1.41d version, notice that there is no Liveserver module in this Public_html.
If you did install it, install it again.

If I copy the lifeserverplugin into the new version of webcontrol and start the streaming, I create a reboot of the SRP 2401.
@roger How can I fix this?? Does we need a new plug-in??
The EPG search works very well.

I can reproduce that.
As far as I am able to investigate, it crashes on WebControl side, because the first thing, LiveServer does, is to log the WebC request, but there is no such log entry.
Since I don't have access the recent WebC sources, we have to wait, what DMC will say.

To accommodate saving search definitions, I changed the way that the TAP handles memory for POST commands. I did test this with external TAPs, but perhaps my tests were not 100% thorough.

@jkIT: I thought that I put the latest source on the SVN, but I will double check.

I'll try to show my problem with two screenshots:

If I choose "TMSRemote" in the menu "Bedienung" there is no chance t enter the password, so I get no connection: (URL: Topfield-IP:8000/#tmsremote)



If I enter the full URL (Topfield-IP:8000/tmsremote/index.html), I can enter the password and everything works:



Tested with Firefox and Safari.

No reboot after starting LiveServer stream.
EPG Search is working fine.



@DMC,
In the zipfile are the Dutch translations for the EPG Search and Multichselect Module.
Also the Webcontrol-config.lng is in it, with the two translated items.
